NEW: With the new developments of late, specifically the upcoming release of MOBY, the first official World Outlander Day on June 1st, and the approaching premiere of the series on August 9th in the U.S. and August 24th in Canada (still waiting on air dates for the rest of the world), I have attempted to do my part to entertain the masses. With that in mind, I’m reposting this Graham Norton Show bit with the additional sketches I mocked up in honor of Outlander the series and MOBY. I hope you enjoy them! Scroll down to the bottom of the page, but don’t forget to make a quick stop at the dance segment with Michael Fassbender. It’s definitely worth a re-visit.
Today’s theme appears to be #Pocketjamie because here he is again. Graham Norton was photoshopped (not photographed as previously ‘reported’) last month holding a #Pocketjamie. It was an entry to the @Outlander_Starz #Pocketjamie contest and was made by Karen L. Hearne – a UK native and fan of the Graham Norton Show. Here’s hoping her vision comes true.
Last night was a fabulous show with the hysterical James McAvoy who should be AT LEAST #10 (not #16) on Empire‘s list of the sexist actors of 2013. Perhaps he needs to start hitting his fellow actors harder – just not the ones whose wives do not have a crush on him.
Another guest on the show, Michael Fassbender, has proven himself to be one of the most good-humored actors in Hollywood today. He loves to sing and is getting better at it all the time. His star is high in the sky and only rising farther up, but he’s taking the attention in humorous stride. He’s #8 on Empire‘s list but is #1 in my humble opinion.
Hugh Jackman was the veteran on the sofa and joked about his #9 status as sexiest man of 2013 like a pro. He knows it’s all silliness but appreciates the gesture. At 45, he’s looking better than ever.
The highlight of the show (of which there were many, but I’m singly out this one) was when Mr. Jackman revealed having to lure Mr. Fassbender from his trailer during the filming of X-Men: Days of Future Past with the song “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. It’s a catchy tune, and I’m sure Mr. Fassbender’s penchant for it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the music video. ;o)
The three actors made a mini-production of it. Mr. Fassbender exited the stage and re-entered, dancing to the music. Mr. Jackman and Mr. McAvoy joined him. All three of them moved very well together.
Here’s a clip of last night’s show for your viewing pleasure:
Now, down to Outlander business.
Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe were cast to play the main characters in a Scottish historical, time-traveling adventure saga being filmed in Scotland. The television show is based on the Outlander series of books by Diana Gabaldon. While they are both currently too busy during principle photography, we – the fans – would love to see them drop by the Graham Norton Show to have a chat with the comical host sometime in the future. We’re sure he’d love to meet Jamie & Claire in the flesh, too.
The following is a vision of MY dream if Sam Heughan had joined the show last night. All four actors seem to have a genuine sense of humor, so I’m sure they won’t mind my having a chuckle at their expense. Hopefully, one day soon, we’ll see Mr. Heughan and Ms. Balfe on the red sofa opposite Mr. Norton. Perhaps if Mr. McAvoy, Mr. Fassbender, and Mr. Jackman are on the show with them, they can give Mr. Heughan a dance lesson or two. Or skip it and dance with Ms. Balfe who also knows how to move very well to music.
Great fun…thanks for the laughter today!
Wish I could make that dance segment the header on my twitter page so I could watch it every day!
Hahaha! Thanks for the fun, CN! I don’t get the GN show, but surely enjoyed the share and your insightful rankings. I concur, MF definitely #1. Keep us informed!
Hello,The Graham Norton Pocket Jamie photo was one of my photo shop entries to the Starz contest they held a few weeks back.I come from the UK but live in the US ,Graham loves to use props on his show , just replaced Madonna doll with a Pocket Jamie.Being a huge fan of Outlander and Graham , I thought this was also prediction for the future.
Thanks, Karen. It’s a good thing I don’t advertise myself as an investigative journalist. I did ‘ask’ around a bit about the origins of the photo, but went ahead without the information. So glad YOU found me. The posting has been updated and includes a credit for your photo.
I was a bit slow tweeting my Norton picture, I was so busy enjoying the likes it was getting on FB, by the time I got round to tweeting it, I noticed somebody else already had ( she wasn’t claiming it as hers though ) but it had already been retweeted without my name attached. It was all in good fun though , the whole idea is for us to spread the word isn’t it. Thank you so much for the credit , it was very nice of you. I got a kick out of seeing it being used by someone outside of twitter and FB.
